Citizens Advice Esher & District has been serving the Elmbridge community for more than 40 years.
We provide free, confidential and impartial advice and we campaign on the big issues affecting people’s lives.
We’re an independent charity and part of the Citizens Advice network across England and Wales.
Every year our team of over 40 dedicated advisers help around 3,000 people with over 12,000 problems.
People come to us with all sorts of issues. You may have money, benefit, housing or employment problems. You may be facing a crisis, or just considering your options.
If you live or work in Elmbridge, our goal is to help you find a way forward, whatever problem you face.
Our service is open to all residents and workers in Elmbridge and our staff are trained to advise on virtually any issue including:
We will provide you with all the facts and possible outcomes of different options.
That way you can make the decision that’s right for you. If needed, we can also offer practical support such as help with filling in forms, writing letters or negotiating with third parties.
We provide a walk-in general advice service so you don’t need to book an appointment to see us. Our drop-in service is available at our main office in Esher and at various local outreaches. See below for full addresses and opening times.
You will see an advisor as soon as someone is available.
Sometimes we might direct you to a different organisation that is better placed to help.
In addition to our general advisory service we also offer specialist guidance in several areas.
Being in debt can be stressful and it can be difficult to know what to do first. We can help you find a way to deal with your debt that suits your own situation. The first step is to complete a Debt Pack and then bring it into us.
If you are thinking of applying for a Debt Relief Order (DRO) we can help you with that too.
We offer a free and independent financial advice service for anyone who lives or work in Elmbridge.
The clinic provides generic advice on any aspect of financial advice such as mortgages, endowments, equity release, financial planning, pensions, inheritance tax, savings and investments.
The clinic is run by Howard Robinson, a local independent financial adviser with over 20 years’ experience in the financial services sector and runs on an appointment basis at the Esher office on the 2nd or 3rd Thursday of each month from 3:45pm.
Our specialist family law clinic operates by appointment only on the last Wednesday evening of each month. We provide access to local solicitors Henry Crisp & Co and interviews take place in their offices in Kingston.
We can provide help with all benefits but we now have a specialist PIP team who can assist you with the whole process of applying for the new disability payments.
If English is not your first language, contact us for information about other languages we can provide advice in.
